Antigua Standard Poodles, aka "Team Priddy", is a small but well-known Texas family of hobby breeders, groomers, and handlers. Dogs bred under the Antigua prefix are destined to be very desirable family dogs and to also be able to compete with the best purebred dogs in the American AKC showring. We have recently branched into multi-colored poodle lines as well and will be breeding to improve quality and health in these colors. Illustrating many layers of expertise, from generations of work on genetic goals of perfecting health and structure with soundness, intelligence, and correct temperament, to handling, training, and grooming, we never stop reaching for higher goals. Melissa is a second generation dog breeder/trainer/handler. Learning from her father's hunting and field trial dogs she grew up training, working, and evaluating future gun dog prospects. In her late teens, she acquired a Rottweiler who quickly earned his AKC CH. She became involved in showing, schutzshund training, and importing German ADRK Rottweilers. When she married and had plans for a family, she wanted to find a breed that still had German brains and ability. The Standard Poodle was a perfect fit with being a gun dog, working dog, show dog, and companion dog. In 1999 she purchased her first Poodle. It took three different attempts to finally find a Poodle worthy of becoming the foundation bitch of our breeding program. CH Legacy Antigua Del Mar was followed by Mexican import CH Lily White Wilson. One or both of these wonderful Poodles is behind every solid colored AKC Poodle that we breed. You may see our Standard Poodles at shows nationwide. We have shown at the Invitationals... Eukanuba Tournament of Champions, and also the prestigious Westminster Dog Show. You may also bump into one of our Poodles or puppies at agility, rally, hunt tests, or being used as therapy or service dogs.

We focus on breeding the "complete" Standard Poodle, being true to type and character, plus one that has wonderful personality and is easy to live with. All puppies are sold on contracts with health and replacement guarantees. Lifetime support is available to our puppy buyers and we encourage our puppy buyers to stay in contact with us throughout the life of the dog. We want our puppies to meet your expectations as a new family member and likewise, we want to be the best breeder and mentor for our extended "family" as possible.
